Google has apparently uncovered the oldest ever Mac rumor in its Usenet archives. In fact, the posting dwells principally on the then-forthcoming Lisa, but then adds this:
Anyone want to expand on the “MacIntosh” rumor, that there will be a stripped down Lisa built for home use (or at the least be cheaper)?

InfoWorld has named Mac OS X (version 10.3, code named “Panther”) as best operating system of the year, and has named Apple’s G5-based Xserve best server hardware in its 2005 Technology of the Year Awards. The article says that Panther “set[s] the standard for simplicity and ease-of-use” among modern (read 64-bit) operating systems.
