As expected, AT&T Wireless announced its OGO handheld messaging device today. The unit, aimed at the youth market, will retail for US$99 and operates on the carrier’s GPRS network. Monthly service costs $18 for unlimited instant messaging, SMS and email from one account. Up to two more user accounts can be added for $3/month each.
The device is not a phone, hence voice service is not offered. AT&T notes that customer who want voice and OGO service will have to carry two devices.
