AT&T Wireless added UMTS service in both Dallas and San Diego today, joining Detroit, Seattle, Phoenix and San Francisco which came on line in July. Little is changed from the announcement the company made at that time; service and handset pricing, handset and radiomodem models and availability and the bandwidth hype remain the same. However, the company’s press release makes no allusions to further rollout of UMTS by AT&T, leading me to believe that we’ve heard the end of these announcements until after the Cingular acquisition is complete.
