Posted on Tuesday 1 June 2004

NTT DoCoMo announced that it has tested wireless technologies which allowed sustained downlink data rates of 135Mbs and peak data rates of 300Mbs under certain circumstances. The company said it used two different encoding schemes on the uplink and downlink sides, and conducted tests from a moving vehicle within 1km of the test base station; the tests were conducted in the 4.6GHz and 4.9GHz bands. DoCoMo said it will continue testing next month.
