For weeks the Mac rumor sites have been predicting that Apple will announce new versions of its PowerBook and iBook notebooks today. Some of the sites have been fairly conservative, while others have come out with detailed specs. But what’s really funny about watching them is that they ALL missed Apple’s announcements at the National Association of Broadcasters trade show yesterday.
The company unveiled new versions of its professional video applications (Shake, DVD Studio Pro, and Final Cut Pro), plus a new storage network system and a new motion graphics package. Yet nary a whisper about these major releases was heard beforehand. I imagine that Steve Jobs smiled a bit, knowing that his company CAN still keep a secret.
