Ericsson returned to a quarterly profit, albeit barely and before restructuring expenses. The company posted sales of SEK36.2B, essentially flat from Q4 2002, and said it earned SEK100M, compared to a loss of SEK8.3B a year ago. For the year Ericsson posted a loss of SEK10.8B, improved from the SEK19B loss for 2002. Annual revenue dropped nearly 20% in 2003 to SEK117.7B. Carl-Henric Svanberg, the company’s president and CEO, was optimistic. “The mobile infrastructure market has definitely stabilized, traffic continues to grow and operators are increasing their focus on network quality and capacity. The year ended with strong sales and we continue to enhance our…position,” he said in a statement.
