PGA Tour player Steve Flesch just told the Golf Channel that some of the drivers voluntarily submitted to the new PGA Tour rebound test have failed. Kemper Sports Management, which runs the Booz-Allen Classic at the TPC here in Washington, said it has invited 14-year-old phenom Michelle Wie to play in this year’s tournament on a sponsor’s exemption. I imagine that if she accepts I’ll have little trouble finding marshals to work on Thursday and Friday.

Cingular Makes Formal Offer for AT&T Wireless

Cingular has apparently made a formal offer for AT&T Wireless. According to a story in USA Today the offer is all-cash and the price includes a premium over ATTWS’s share price. The paper reports that the offer was made over the weekend; AT&T’s Board held a previously scheduled meeting yesterday and will meet again today.
