PGA Tour player Steve Flesch just told the Golf Channel that some of the drivers voluntarily submitted to the new PGA Tour rebound test have failed. Microsoft’s one-way FM-subcarrier system, SPOT, is taking some flak (like this), some of it deserved and some not. For a giggle, here’s one guy’s impression of what could be coming to your wrist.
Kemper Sports Management, which runs the Booz-Allen Classic at the TPC here in Washington, said it has invited 14-year-old phenom Michelle Wie to play in this year’s tournament on a sponsor’s exemption. I imagine that if she accepts I’ll have little trouble finding marshals to work on Thursday and Friday.

Cingular has apparently made a formal offer for AT&T Wireless. According to a story in USA Today the offer is all-cash and the price includes a premium over ATTWS’s share price. The paper reports that the offer was made over the weekend; AT&T’s Board held a previously scheduled meeting yesterday and will meet again today.
