Tough Going for WCDMA in Korea

Posted on Monday 29 December 2003

The Korean government is working hard to make WCDMA viable but isn’t having much luck. In addition, the government said it will allow the operators to subsidize the cost of WCDMA handsets and will allow the devices to be rented rather than sold. Both practices are forbidden by regulators for the country’s CDMA operators.
